Reasonably Priced Circle Shaped Bed

Anne of Green Gables

Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert , two brothers who live in Green Gables, a farm in the Canadian town of Avonlea located in Prince Edward Island , decide to adopt a boy from the orphanage in Nova Scotia for help with the farm.

When Matthew will pick you up at the station, is instead a girl of eleven named Anne Shirley .

The December 1, 1985 ago today and 25 years, was premiered in Canada " Anne of Green Gables " ( Anne of Green Gables), one of the most beloved series that has given us the small screen.

Produced by Sullivan Entertainment and directed by Kevin Sullivan , the series combining some beautiful images photographed by Rene Ohashi with a surround sound track of Hagood Hardy.

And all this combined with a wonderful script, signed by Joe Wiesenfeld and own Sullivan, who was based in turn on the novel by the writer Canadian Lucy Maud Montgomery .

born on November 30, 1874 in Prince Edward Island same of their stories, Lucy Maud Montgomery was strictly raised by her grandparents to die his mother shortly after her birth.

At 18, Lucy continued her studies at the Prince of Wales College in Charlottetown, where she earned her teaching certificate. After working as a teacher in various island schools and several local newspapers, became the home of his grandparents in 1902. There he found the inspiration to write his first book in the Prince Edward Island .

and in 1908 published The first one, "Anne of Green Gables " where fictional passages combined with others based on their own experience. Since its publication, this first book about Anne Shirley has sold over 50 million copies. The next year saw the second volume, "Anne of Avonlea ."

Lucy Maud Montgomery married in 1911 to a Presbyterian minister named Edward MacDonald, then the couple moving to Ontario in Canada itself.

wrote there, in the parsonage of Leaskdale, the following six volumes to complete the collection where we showed the evolution of the character of Anne in the different stages of life.

Died in Toronto in 1942, the writer also gave us other works as the Emily trilogy, "The golden path" and "The Enchanted Forest."

Anne Shirley , ending in "e", has a immensely imaginative character manages to dazzle the inhabitants of the village of Avonlea where the action takes place in early twentieth century. Personality of Anne soon catches Matthew , getting between the two that the child finally reaches the heart, seemingly cold, Marilla .

To choose to give life to actress Anne Shirley carried out an extensive casting. Among a total of 3,000 was finally selected candidates Megan Follows , a young actress of 17 years.

Born in 1968 in Ontario (Canada), Megan Elizabeth Laura Diana Follows comes from a family of actors, producers and scriptwriters. His parents were members of the summer theater, acting, and she and her siblings at a young age.

C began on 9 years in advertising and then moving to a long list of theatrical productions, among which were "Romeo and Juliet" and "The effects of gamma rays on the Daisies".

Megan won twice on Gemini Award, an award equivalent in Canada to American Emmy for " Anne of Green Gables " (1985) and " Anne of Green Gables. The Sequel" (1987). In 2000 he shot a third, " Anne of Green Gables. The story continues, "that no longer had any relation to the books of Lucy Maud Montgomery .

Somewhere between Canada and the U.S. (it has both nationalities), Megan has continued until today for small and big screen.

's character Marilla Cuthbert was rightly awarded to Colleen Dewhurst, one of the most brilliant actresses of the Canadian scene. Born in 1924 in Montreal, Colleen won over his successful career on stage two Tony Awards and seven more nominations.

But we could see on the big screen in such titles as "The Nun's Story," "Annie Hall", "The Dead Zone" and "Dying Young." And on television became a familiar face through series such as "Anno Domini", "The Love Boat" or "Murphy Brown".

Married twice with another great big screen, George C. Scott , Colleen sadly left us in 1991. It also gave us a wonderful composition of the temperamental Marilla.

Matthew, brother of Marilla and Anne chief accomplice, could not have better performance than that offered us Richard Farnsworth .

Veteran film actor where he started as a brilliant classical specialist, Farnsworth also left us sadly in 2000. In " Anne of Green Gables " gives us one of his characters more human and endearing. A real delight.

To play Gilbert Blythe, Anne's rival in the studies made later in the love of his life, he chose Jonathan Crombie, a young actor of 19 years old born in Toronto.

Recommended for the casting of " Anne of Green Gables " by the theater director Diane Polley , Jonathan was finally chosen, getting with this role great recognition as an actor.

After this series, Crombie led the way to the theater stage, where they were warmly applauded their multiple interpretations.

A Katharine Hepburn was offered the role initially and Marilla, but ultimately not accepted, they decided to suggest to her niece, Schuyler Grant for the role of the girl protagonist.

Schuyler was not finally chosen for the character of Anne but for that of Diana Barry, her soul mate in history. Far from following in the performance, Schuyler is currently a yoga teacher in New York.

In 1986, " Anne of Green Gables " won 8 Canadian Gemini Awards: best actress (Megan Follows), Best Actor and Supporting Actress (Colleen Dewhurst and Richard Farnsworth ), dramatic screenplay, best cinematography, best production design and art direction, best costume design and best soundtrack.

also received an award for most popular program and was also nominated Best Director and Best Editing.

And in the United States won an Emmy Award for Best Production and was nominated for best screenplay.

Here in Spain is not met Anne Shirley until 1987, two years after its release in Canada. While, yes, then we enjoyed the first two in a row.

" The most beloved and charming girl of fiction since the immortal Alice "
